Are there any prerequisites?

The Building Performance Institute (BPI) and Home Energy Professional (HEP) certifications for Retrofit Installer Technician and Crew Leader roles are no longer supported by the Department of Energy (DOE) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Despite this discontinuation, the skills and job tasks outlined in the Retrofit Installer Technician and Crew Leader job task analyses remain highly relevant for on-site work in energy efficiency.
In response to this change, Everblue has developed a digital badge program that teaches 100% of the competencies detailed in the Retrofit Installer Technician and Crew Leader job task analyses. The Everblue Crew Leader badges are designed to align fully with the Crew Leader job task analysis. While completing this badge program does not confer a BPI Certification, it signifies that participants have successfully learned and performed all the tasks listed in the Crew Leader Job Task Analysis (JTA).
