How to Register for the CISA Certification Exam

To become an ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), you need to take and pass the CISA certification exam.

If you’re new to researching this exam and have limited experience, first check out our CISA Certification training package. There, you’ll become more familiar with the content that will be on the corresponding exam.

But if you are ready to take the CISA certification exam, here are the four basic steps:

  1. Check the Exam Schedule. Always verify that there is an examination site available close to you before registering and paying for your exam. Searching by date and location will ensure you are able to take the exam as planned. As experiences for testing centers are different, make sure you select the experience that is right for you.
  2. Register for the Exam. You can register for the exam you want to write once you have verified that a testing site is available when and where you need it. Scheduling an exam is done separately.
  3. Pay for the Exam. Paying for an exam can be done when registering, or it can be done separately at a later stage. Payment must, however, be done before an exam can be scheduled.
  4. Schedule the Exam. Once test site availability has been ensured, and the exam has been registered and paid for, the exam can be scheduled. Scheduling is done via the website of the testing partner, and not via ISACA.org.
