Comprehensive Technical Training for Energy Efficiency Careers

Everblue delivers Related Technical Instruction (RTI) designed to support Registered Apprenticeship programs for:

  • Weatherization Technicians
  • Energy Auditors / Energy Specialists

Our RTI courses provide the classroom and technical learning components essential for apprentices to gain deep knowledge of building science, energy auditing principles, weatherization techniques, safety protocols, and problem-solving skills.

Combined with employer-led on-the-job training, this creates a well-prepared workforce ready to meet the demands of the energy efficiency sector.

Program Structure & Timeline

Flexible, Online Related Technical Instruction

  • Duration: Our RTI spans approximately one year, designed to run alongside your apprentices’ on-the-job experience.
  • Delivery: Training is available via online (self-paced) learning modules, tailored to fit with apprentices’ work schedules and geographic locations.
  • Integration with On-the-Job Learning: Everblue’s RTI complements your workforce’s practical training, reinforcing concepts and skills crucial to successful job performance.

Who is Eligible to Become an Apprentice?

  • Apprentices must generally be at least 18 years old to participate.
  • Open to entry-level and experienced workers.

Employer Responsibilities

  • Providing paid on-the-job training that aligns with Everblue’s training
  • Assigning qualified mentors to monitor apprentice progress

1. Choose a Program

You can enroll your team in the year-long Weatherization Technician program, the Energy Specialist program, or bundle both for a more comprehensive training experience—with credit given for overlapping content if apprentices complete Weatherization Technician before advancing to Energy Specialist.

2. Register Your Apprentice

When you're ready to register, simply list your apprentice’s name and email address on the checkout page. Once payment is complete, your apprentice will be automatically enrolled in the online courses and can begin training right away.

3. Monitor Completion

As the employer, you’ll play a key role in keeping your apprentice accountable throughout the self-paced training. Our partners at the Building Performance Association will also monitor student progress to ensure your apprentice stays on track—because our goal is completion and long-term success.

Energy Specialist

The Energy Specialist program prepares individuals to perform detailed home energy assessments by using diagnostic tools to evaluate insulation, heating/cooling systems, windows, and appliances, recommending energy-saving upgrades that improve home comfort, safety, and efficiency, and helping increase customer awareness and participation in energy efficiency programs.
