On October 3rd, Everblue joined partners in Laconia, New Hampshire, to celebrate National Weatherization Day. The event, hosted at Lakes Region Community College and organized by NHSaves, Everblue, and local collaborators, spotlighted the vital work of the weatherization community and the importance of training and collaboration across state lines.
As part of the planning committee, Everblue helped shape the program, sponsored the event, and hosted an exhibitor table – engaging with attendees from across New England’s energy efficiency and weatherization sectors.
The event’s training sessions highlighted the wide range of skills and knowledge involved in weatherization work.
Morning sessions included:
• Networking and collaboration within the weatherization community
• Dense packing techniques
• Heat pump applications
Afternoon session:
• Hazardous Materials (CEU course) — presented by Everblue’s Josef Keefe, covering safety protocols to prevent exposure to asbestos and other hazardous substances.
The session drew strong participation and sparked valuable conversations about maintaining high standards for jobsite safety.
Closing the event, Nancy Lynch, VIEW Center Weatherization Training Manager, highlighted the shared goals of regional cooperation and continued workforce development.
The celebration also offered moments of recognition and appreciation. Longtime partners and colleagues, including representatives from NASCSP, Lakes Region Community College, and the New Hampshire Department of Energy, joined weatherization crews and program leaders from across the state. Two professionals – Dan Girard (CAPHR) and Dennis Downs (TCCAP) – were honored with Distinguished Career Awards recognizing more than 30 years of dedicated service to the weatherization community.
By coming together for New Hampshire’s National Weatherization Day, partners from across the region reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing safe, effective, and collaborative workforce training—strengthening the network that supports a more energy-efficient future.
