Everblue, a leading provider of professional training and certification programs, is excited to announce a new partnership with White Earth Tribal and Community College (WETCC) to offer an Energy Auditor Pre-Apprenticeship program. This collaboration is part of the implementation of the Energy Auditor Training Grant and will train people to provide energy audits for White Earth and area residents.
The partnership leverages the strengths of both organizations, with Everblue providing high-quality energy auditor curriculum, qualified instructors, managing third-party exams, and coordinating offsite training locations. WETCC will play a crucial role in student recruitment, providing facilities, and facilitating connections with local employers.
“I am thrilled to announce that we have received a grant to initiate our Energy Audit Training Program,” said President Sheppard of WETCC. “This grant enables us to dive into critical work, training a new generation of energy auditors who will play an essential role in promoting energy efficiency and sustainability within our communities. We’re looking forward to starting this meaningful work and are grateful for the support that makes this program possible.”
Chris Boggiano, President of Everblue, emphasized the program’s impact, stating, “By partnering with WETCC to launch the Energy Auditor Pre-Apprenticeship program, we are not just providing training; we are empowering the community. This initiative will equip individuals with the skills needed to thrive in the energy efficiency sector, fostering sustainable practices that benefit both the environment and local economies. Together, we are creating pathways to success for our students and a brighter future for our communities.”
In addition to industry exposure, participants will earn three key credentials—BPI Building Science Principles, BPI Building Analyst Technician, and BPI Building Analyst Professional—gaining the expertise needed to identify and address issues like drafty windows and poor indoor air quality that drive up energy bills and impact home safety. As certified home energy auditors, participants will be fully prepared to help homeowners reduce energy costs, enhance comfort, and improve the safety and durability of their homes.
The program, designed to create win-win outcomes for students and employers, will include a blend of in-person, live online, and asynchronous online classes, ensuring a flexible and accessible learning experience.
This initiative represents a significant step toward developing a skilled workforce in energy auditing and promoting sustainable practices in Minnesota. The program is set to launch soon, with cohorts of 10-20 students per session.
